Down To Business

What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately, actually. My husband is currently going to school for what he has always dreamed of going for. Me, on the other hand, have no idea what I want to do. It’s a hard decision to make for me. Unlike some people who have known since middle school or before, and stuck with it.

But how did they know? How did they know for sure that that’s what they wanted to do? I have so many things I would love to be able to do, but which one do I love more? How do I decide?

I love cooking, art, photography, animals, and trees, and so much more. How do you decide which one you want to start with at least?!

I’ve been considering Wildlife Conservation because it covers a few of those areas I love so much. I’m a “fun fact” or “did you know..” kind of girl. Wildlife Conservation covers animals, plants, and their environments. Which is the biggest interest of mine.

Major in Wildlife Conservation and minor in Photography..? I think that might be the route I’m going. For now.

Wish me luck in deciding!

I also have started a business on the side to help with the upcoming holidays and birthdays in my family. Let me help you fill your home or office with scent-sational scents! Or host my party for a FREE kit of your own!!

Emotional Writing

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Writing, for me, is a way to express my emotions. To tell the story of my heart. To get it all out in the open and off my chest.

It’s almost as if with each word I write or type, I can feel the stress lifting from me. It calms me and relaxes me down.

Admirable Careers

What profession do you admire most and why?

I want to start off by saying that I admire the brave men and women who put their lives on the lines every single day. Whether it be in another country, law enforcement, or EMT, any and all of those people are admirable at best.

But the ones I admire the most would be teachers. The ones who truly care. They spend more time with our children through the year than we do, have patience and guidance, and share love and interest in each student the best they can.

To me, teachers should be appreciated more and paid more. This country is all about education but doesn’t want to really fund most of them.

They do so much for our children, and then some. The ones who truly care to see children succeed. The ones who push their students to do better instead of just passing them off.

Most people have that one special teacher who changed something in them. They could’ve helped them in a certain subject or opened them up to something new that they fell in love with. Or been the very reason they became a teacher themselves.

Gracious Graditudes

How do you express your gratitude?

There are so many ways to express gratitude for different situations. In most of those cases, a simple thank you would suffice.

A simple note of motivation or uplifting praise is a great way to show gratitude of a friendship or relationship.

Giving back to your community is another way to show gratitude towards a welcoming community.

Just the other day, I had a neighbor bring me a huge bucket of fresh fish. It was unexpected and very generous. Always remembering what my grandma used to say, “There’s two things you never forget in this world. Always trust in God and never return a dish empty.” So I filled the container with homemade fudge, homemade granola bars, and a very thankful “thank you” letter.

The most important way to express gratitude is in your attitude. Kindness goes a long way, even in these days when it feels like kindness is on the back burner for everyone.

But love, kindness, and support are the best ways to show the people you care about how much you really appreciate them in your life.

Inspiring Teachers

What makes a teacher great?

Teachers are so important in our lives. Even the first ones, like kindergarten teachers. Without teachers, would we have doctors or mechanics? I know that seems a little off, but think about it. Someone taught you how to do your job. They may not qualify as a teacher, per say. But professors are teachers.

I believe there are several things that could qualify a teacher as great.

Passion is at the top of that list for me. And I’m not just talking about a passion for the subject they teach. I’m talking about those teachers who are passionate about kids. The ones who are push there children to do what they thought they couldn’t. The ones who believe in them when the kids don’t believe in themselves.

Fun. The teachers who try to make everything fun, even the boring stuff, are the best. They always have something planned, not just the lesson. They make learning seem fun instead of just reading pages from a workbook.

And lastly, teachers who don’t always follow by the books. Those are the teachers that you want. They want you to learn real-life things, not just the ones taught from the books. Those are the teachers who inspire others to become teachers.

I had a few great teachers, but only one that gave me all three of these amazing qualities, and I will never, ever forget her. She’s the reason I love books, writing, and how to have fun when it comes to learning. She taught me so much.

I will forever be grateful to you, Mrs. Shatz. Rest in peace. 💜
